The threat of terrorism remains high in East Africa with a bias on Kenya and Somalia.

Kenya has remained a soft target after it deployed its forces to rout the terrorists and militants from camps near its border with Somalia.

Al-Shabaab ideology may focus on increasing terror attacks in Kenya and Somalia in coming days to further push their agenda for Jihad.

In Somalia, terrorists attempted to bomb Jazeera hotel which is close to Mogadishu’s airport.

The hotel is very popular with Somali politicians.

Heavy explosions followed by successive gunfire were reported as security forces in Mogadishu tried to help victims.

Four Somali police officers were among the dead in the attack.
